Course Structure
So how are we going to get this done?
Every module contains a series of lessons and exercises. All the lessons are in video format, and the solutions to the exercises are videos as well - so you can follow along with me if you're stuck, or need to make a correction.
Don't worry - every topic and skill that we cover will be taught right from the beginning. If you're already confident, check out these beginner lessons anyway - you might learn a faster, easier way of doing something, or deepen your understanding of an important idea.
A big part of this journey is learning how to become a mathematical problem solver. We're going to spend loads of time breaking down this thinking process and this is what will help you to bridge the gap from the basics to the exam questions.
Remember all those times you saw an test question and thought "I've got no idea how to start! I've never seen anything like this before!" - well, most of the time that's because a basic skill has been wrapped up in a problem solving question. One of our biggest goals is to learn how to deal with these questions.
Now, this next bit is really important:
Even with the best of intentions, we all lose sight of our goals from time to time. That's why it is really important to have someone to help keep you on track. This is going to be your accountability partner while you're working through the modules. Here's how it works:
At the end of each of the main modules, you'll get a short test to do. Your accountability partner (probably a parent), will have the solutions. Set a sensible schedule with realistic deadlines for getting to these "milestone tests", and when you get there they will mark the work for you - that way you know you're making steady progress, and you have someone watching your back.
If you have some tuition bolted on, you'll be getting help with this aspect in these lessons as well.
So right now:
You need to click on THIS LINK, and get your partner (not you!) to sign up for the accountability pack, then once you've completed your first module, they'll be ready to do their bit!
So now you know what to expect, let's dive right in to our first lesson!
