In this section we will clearly define and understand what exponentials and logarithms actually are. You'll learn how to apply your understanding to solve problems within algebra and calculus, before we move on to modelling problems in the next section.
Now that we've got the basics down, it's time to explore modelling questions. Here you'll need a problem-solving mindset (like all mathematical modelling problems!), but the basics that we learned in the last section are still the most important thing.
We'll also meet a modelling situation unique to logarithms - the idea of linearising data. This is a very cool, and widely used, technique that really takes advantage of the special properties of the log function.
As always, here's your checkout exercise. Feel free to review the lessons and examples in this course to help you, and go back and forth with the written solutions to figure the questions out.
